The lotteries are open to Sri Lankan citizens aged 18 years or above. Purchases via SMS require a valid mobile connection. However, employees of the Promoter, their families, service providers, agents, and those professionally associated with the prize draw are ineligible.
Throughout the week, Mahajana Sampatha, Mega Power, Govi Setha, Dhana Nidanaya, NLB Handahana, Lucky 7 and Ada Sampatha lotteries are available, with draws occurring every day from Monday to Sunday.
The ticket price will follow the price structure established by the NLB for each lottery. For purchases made through any Mobile Operator, a convenience fee, inclusive of applicable taxes, will be added to the Rs.40 ticket price.

To purchase any of the available lotteries listed in “Available lotteries and draw dates” customers can use SMS or visit our website at (www.lucky989.lk or www.lucky1.lk.). By simply sending an SMS to the 989 shortcode with the relevant keyword, customers can buy tickets. Both subscription and on-demand (one-off purchase) models are available for purchase.
To complete a purchase, users must ensure they have sufficient credit in their Ticket Wallet or mobile account and possess a valid National Identity card number. Upon subscribing to a lottery package, a weekly billing cycle will be initiated. Based on credit availability, immediate draw tickets will be issued to the user's mobile.Users have the flexibility to subscribe to multiple packages and can purchase up to 50 tickets for the on-demand service.
When purchasing tickets, the Ticket Wallet balance will be used as the first priority for the selected number of tickets (ticket value). Only after the Ticket Wallet balance is exhausted will any additional payment options selected by the customer be used.
Lottery draws occur according to NLB's published dates listed in "Available Lotteries and Draw Dates." Once the draw takes place, official results will be promptly sent via SMS to all subscribers of the respective lottery.

Lottery sales conclude promptly at 7:00 PM. This means that any purchases or transactions related to lottery tickets must be completed by this time. After 7:00 PM, no further sales or entries for that day's lottery draws will be accepted.
